We've rethought CMS!
An overwhelming majority of people running CMS (Chassis Mounted Steering) kits have issues with rubbing, alignment and suspension geometry. Typical kits are fine if you are looking for something that just "moves the servo" .... but if you are actually looking for suspension performance, maximum steering or have a truck that is not stock, you've fought with your CMS kit and had to compromise.
Our Pro CMS kit for the Axial SCX10 allows you to move the steering servo from the axle housing to the chassis ... and offers options for adjustments for those of you that are "outside the box" and/or wanting great performance!
Built around the Axial SCX10 AX90034 (compatible with multiple model numbers), Pro CMS allows for adjustment to fit a variety of suspension heights, wheel bases and axle components.
KEY COMPONENTS:
SERVO PLATE:
Our Servo Plate allows you to vertically mount your servo in the recommended chassis location for an AX90034**. This mount location is superior because it allows the servo arm to swing in the same arc as your knuckles. This gives you maximum steering throw, maximum power and keeps end point adjustment easy.
Our Servo Plate also allows you to move the servo forward or rearward for changes in wheelbase. With multiple mounting holes you can find the best location to keep your drag link as parallel as possible with the axle.
3 LINK MOUNT:
Our 3 Link mount allows you to mount your upper link on the
passenger(USA) side of the vehicle, away from the servo and driveshaft.
Our 3 Link Mount hugs the axle for maximum clearance of all the other
components and to give a better scale appearance.
DROP BRACKET:
Our Drop Bracket mounts through the frame to Servo Plate and allows you to attach a track bar in the recommended location for an AX90034. The Drop Bracket includes an upper and lower mounting hole to help match the angle of the track bar and drag link based on the servo horn and knuckles you are using.
You have the option of selection the standard part made form aluminum or the Heavy Duty part made from steel.
The Drop Bracket can also be moved forward or rearward on the chassis rail to match the plane of the drag link. This gives you the best geometry possible and helps reduce floating end points.
TRACK BAR BRACKET:
Our Track Bar Bracket mounts to the top of your axle housing and offers
dual mounting points for the Track Bar. The standard bracket in this
kit is meant for factory ackermann steering knuckles. If you run zero
ackermann knuckles make sure you select the Zero Ackermann bracket.
The Track Bar Bracket can be mounted to a bare housing, but we include our Inner Housing Brace with each kit.
INNER HOUSING SUPPORT
Passenger side:
For those of you with a stock/bare housing, you can use our Inner
Housing Brace to help strengthen the mounting points for our Track Bar
Brackets on the passenger side of your axle housing. If you have ever
ripped a bracket out of your housing stripping the soft factory holes
... this is the easy cure! Each brace is 100% stainless and milled to
work with thicker aftermarket shafts like the VP VVD.
If you want
the added benefit of increased weight and solid mounting points, you
can select the Flat Top Gunnar Tube. This gives you all the benefits of
the Inner Housing Brace and better C-Hub support and is the ideal choice
for supporting the Trackbar Bracket.
Driver side (Optional):
In
addition to the two above options for the driverside, you also have the
option of selecting a standard Gunnar Tube for the driver side. This
helps even the weight for those running the Flat Top Gunnar Tube on the
passenger side.
TRACK BAR:
Also known as a panhard bar, our Track Bar connects the axle to the chassis laterally, removing the need for link triangulation and allowing you to run a "3 Link suspension" in the front. This gives you the most movement possible out of your front suspension while maintaining proper geometry and keeping end points at their maximum for the most steering throw possible.
Because our Track Bar is ultra narrow, it also allows for the most fitment options possible while helping to eliminate the rubbing of components.
If you run factory ackermann knuckles, select the Standard part. If you run Zero Ackermann knuckles, make sure to select the Zero Ackermann part.
DRAG LINK:The drag link attaches your servo horn to the steering knuckles. The standard part is meant for factory ackermann knuckles. If you run zero ackermann knuckles make sure you select the Zero Ackermann part.
OPTIONAL Aluminum Servo Mounts:
Our
aluminum servo mounts will allow you to mount your servo to the servo
plate, but because so many of you have existing similar parts (like
Axial AX80028-5), we make them option to help keep the cost of the kit
lower.

**Fitment of this kit was determined using an Axial AX90034 kit and a Hitec HS-7954SH servo. Similar kits and servos will work but may require minimal modifications. See instructions for more information.
